Celebrating the Chinese New Year
We have celebrated the Chinese New Year, Year of the Tiger, with performances from all our talented pupils, they have demonstrated a variety of skills which have impressed us all. Well done to our younger pupils who performed for the first time in public and to our brilliant comperes who were magnificent with their links. During the event, we were visited by Mr Ng MBE, President of UKAPCA, who presented us with a £200 cheque for funding our school activities. The school would also like to thank all the parents and teachers who have supported their children\'s build up to the performances. Thank you to all who brought the wonderful selection of tasty food to share in our party buffet, which everyone sampled and enjoyed. A special thank you to Shaun and Karen To-Chapman who kindly loaned and operated the PA system for our show, which has now become essential equipment for a successful show. Thanks too, to our anonymous parent, who, for the second year running donated generously to fund our red envelopes. Last but not least of all, the celebrations would not have been possible without the help of our hard working committee members who have sacrificed their spare time to ensuring a successful and enjoyable event. Our thanks to Willis and Eng Lan for the organisational work and to Jishan, Quihua and Jiang Qin for taking over the latter part of the organising. It was also an honour for our Head to be invited to the Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations on 14 February, where he met local political dignitaries and members of the Chinese community. Mr Sung was able to speak to Councillor Shipley, Council Leader and discuss possible routes of funding for our school. Xin Nian Hao.
